Tyler's Birthday Party

Wow, I can not believe that in less than 5 weeks my sweet boy will be a year old. It seems like yesterday we were at the hospital having him. This year in general has flown by to me. I am not going to complain it can go by even faster because that will mean my husband will be back home with us.

So on to the party, Labor Day weekend will be throwing Tyler's Big 1st Birthday Bash. Crazy kid did I have to say pick a great weekend to come because it is a holiday weekend and people are able to travel easier! So for months I tried to decide what to do. My mom and I would talk about it and talk about it. I wanted something that I could easy find things to decorate for it with but I wanted something that I thought he would like also. I really did not want it to look babyish. Tyler is in love, IN LOVE, with Mickey Mouse so that has become our theme. He can even say mouse. It is super cute!

So here are some things that we are using for the grand event! HA!

1st) We are making mickey cookies but we are putting a 1 and his name on them! So excited!

2nd) The Hat! I feel in love with this and ordered it from the Gingham Bunny on Etsy. Mom and I decided we could make it but did not have the time.
3rd) Tylers Outfit! This is a example! His is so stinking cute! We do have a Red & White jon jon and it does have a mickey with a Birthday hat but it is way cutier!

4th) His Bib is similar and will match his cute outfit and hat.
5th) We are not having a cake for the party but this is a good picture of what will be happening!

6th) These are our cupcake toppers! The Cricut is going to be getting a lot of use!

7th) These are Tyler's plates! I heart them! We also have the napkins to match!

8th)Well Frankly I am in love and may or may not do our cupcake like these!

9th) Tylers Cake. I wanted simple so that he may tear into it and not have so many messy colors all over him. So we are going with all white but Mom and I are going to cut out Mickey heads out of fondant to place around the sides. We also have a very cute wooden one that we are working on to be on top! His will be cutier than this one!
10th) This is Tylers plate for him to eat off of! It is flat and will be easy to put his food on.

11th) Cake Pops. YUM YUM! We will be attempting to make these into mouse heads like these if we can figure it but may have some that just have the normal sprinkles or icing swirls.
12th) These are for Favors but not sure what we will use them for.
I want all my serving peices to be red, black, or white so I have been buying up what I find all over Northeast Alabama and online! I have found some really cute dishes and have hit up a great selection at my favorite store, Target!

PS. Did I mention that My Mom and I are throwing a Baby Shower for a large Crowd on Sunday after Tylers Party on Saturday! Yes two major parties in one weekend and Yes we are crazy! HA! Well at least we will be after that weekend!

4th of July

Every year we celebrate the 4th of July by going to the beach! We absolutely love going as a family and spending quality time together as a family, eating wonderful food, relaxing and shopping! We have always gone to Pensacola Beach, FL since I was born. Pensacola is and will always be my favorite vacation spot! I have so many great memories there! But due to the oil and just wanting to try something new this year we decided to go to Tybee Island, Ga. We are very excited!

Saturday we left very early in the morning headed to the beach! Half way we stopped in Macon, Ga at Bass Pro Shop for a bathroom break. Tyler was very good in the car as always and our car was packed to the max! I mean not another thing was going to fit! HA! Once we got there we went to the Condo and started unloading everything. The Condo was nice! We had ordered all our groceries from the http://www.tybeemarketiga.com/ and they had delievered everything and had it all nice and put away!!! I mean everything nice and neat in the refrigerator and organized in the cabinets! It was so nice and saved us hours of grocery shopping! After we all got unpacked Jon gave everyone there gifts from Afghanistan. All was loved!
Saturday night was the Fireworks on Tybee Island! Man we had front row seats from our Condo balcony! They went up right in front of us and man was it a show! We kept thinking it was the finally and then they just kept going! IT was a FANTASTIC Show!!!! What a great way to celebrate the 4th of July!!!

Sunday was the 4th of July, Independence Day! Wow I am so proud to be a American! I am so thankful that we have the freedoms that we do! I am also very proud of the men and women who fight for our freedom everyday, especially my Husband! Our soldiers sacrifice so much for our country to be able to live the way that we do! America is the Home of the Free Because of the Brave!! I am also thankful and my heart goes out to all the families that have had a love one pay the ultimate price for our Freedom! My Family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts! In May I learned what it is feels like to lose a dear sweet friend for the price of Freedom and it hearts your heart but I am so proud of him and very proud of his wife and his family! Brooke you and Kinleigh are in my prayers everyday. You are such a strong military wife and I am proud of you and so sorry for your loss! RIP CPT KYLE COMFORT!
