Daddy & Tyler Time

Jon is going to Air Assault school during the month of April so he is doing some training while we are on leave. He has to do a 12 mile ruck march and has been trying to practice as much as possible. Since it is raining here today he decided to practice with Tyler! They are so cute! Tyler is loving it! Jon did 5 miles running on the treadmill with Tyler on his back! Kuddos to him because I don't think I could do it! Tyler is watching "Clifford" on the television and smiling away! I love that they love each other and that Jon and Tyler can do so much together!

We had to find things to do when you are at the ER for over 4 hours and we had no wait time to get called back! It stunk big time! Especially with a sleepy 18 month old.

Happy Fat Tuesday and Our not so Happy Tuesday

HAPPY FAT TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone has had a great Fat Tuesday! I hope you had some yummy Cajun food and some yummy King Cake.

We did not get to have any of the above. We spent most of the day in the ER again with Tyler. Poor guy had severe diarhea and I was really worried he was having a allergic reaction to one of his meds for his Bronchitis. His wheezing is getting worse and not better also. This ER experience was not the best. However our son was a ANGEL! He let them do everything and did not cry or pull away one time. Such a big boy I was so proud of him. He amazed every nurse that came in to do something to him. We had a horrible doctor though. He did not want to see us to start with and said he had a list of peditricians for us. I informed him that I had already checked and no ped's doctor would see us for just a one time visit. I told him we had a urgent care place that we normally went to but we were coming back here since it was were we had to go Sunday night. I was so frustrated to start with. He said he was going to run a bunch of test and come back later. We sat there for a few minutes and a girl comes in a needs to swab his nose for RSV and the flu and swabs his tush to see if something else was causing diarhea. Then we sat forever! Finally the Dr. comes in but only to tell us he had thought he had sent in all the test but they never left his computer. So we waited some more then they took him back for another chest x-ray and a few minutes after getting back a lab tech came in to draw some blood. She could not see any of his veins so we decided to try his finger. She needed a pretty full tub to run a culture and protein. He did so well. He never flinched. He sat and just looked at her the whole time. After the first tube she needed one more but his blood flow was slowing down. She was able to get out enough to fill it up. We sat, again. Then another lab tech came in to tell us the second tube the blood flow was to slow and there was a blood clot and they could not use it. So they had to stick him again. About 20 minutes later the Dr. finally comes back to inform us everything was negative except the x-ray confirmed the Bronchitis still. He gave us the option to change his antibiotic since the other was causing his diarhea. We both have laughed that he would think we would not want to spend more money on a prescription that would help our son. I didn't care what I had paid and that I was paying for another one if it would help him feel better. He also thought he needed a cough syrup and gave us a prescription for his raw tush. What a day. So glad it is over and that he went to sleep really well. I was so scaried since he got no nap today. We are praying he feels better tomorrow and his tush will start to feel better really soon!

What I am loving right now.

1. Amazon Mom

I signed up for this December 10th then first time I got a email about it. I had been a member of Amazon Prime for almost a year and was in love with it but this is even better. I love getting the prime for free. We buy lots from Amazon because of the free 2 day shipping.

2. Amazon Subscribe and Save

This is so nice! You can sign up and save 15% and if you are Amazon Mom you can save another 15%. I have my diapers shipped to my house! You can choose all your options for everything you want. I am also setting up toilet paper, paper towels and several other items for when we get back in April. It will be so nice not to have to worry about those things. PS All Moms Parents magazine has a 20% off Diapers coupon for amazon in there magazine this month!

3. Bodycology

My favorite scent right now is Cucumber Melon. I bought the shower gel and bubble bath. It is a all in one and it makes huge bubbles that last a long time. The smell last for a long time as well. The Vanilla Cupcake smells yummy also but I have not bought it yet! Its next on my list. Plus it is cheap! It is only $4.00 a bottle and you can find it at Walmart and Target.

4. Ulta

I love this store! I use to love going into the store but since I don't live near one anymore I have been ordering online! They have so many great deals! I also love some of the Ulta brand makeup. The eyeliners, lipliners, blush, and eyeshadows are great! I really like them and they stay on for a long time which is what I like. The eyeliner will stay on even when I am in water which is also another plus! Plus if you watch in store they have great sales on eyeliners and lipliners for a $1.00! Who can beat that? They are regularly $7.99.

5. Gap City Flats

I love these shoes! LOVE them. They are so comfortable and cute with everything! I have several colors in them and want more!

Last Weekend

Last weekend was great! Saturday morning even though it was raining my Mom and I drove to Birmingham. We went to the Cottontail Village. We love going to craft shows. Thank you rain for keeping it from being miserable. I hate when it is so crowded you can not move. Jon kept Tyler for the day also! So we were stroller and child free. We wanted to look at this one shop for sure so we went upstairs and straight to her. She was a little of a disappointment this time. We bought several things from her last time but she did not have what we were looking for. We went back and started at the beginning of upstairs. We did find some great stuff. I got Tyler the cutest appliqued shirt and matching shorts for Easter for really cheap. My mom found Ansleigh some cute little gingham shorts for $5.00! I found a really cute black wooden bracelet that I had my initials carved in so you see them in the natural wood color. My mom got some great sterling silver jewelry pieces. We had some yummy lunch when we went downstairs. I found this one shop that had these amazing magnetic boards. Of course I had to have one. I got one that is a recipe board to go in my kitchen. It is a beautiful color of turquoise and they tied a red ribbon on it for me. It also came with 2 magnets and a free recipe card. So cute. They also had a prayer request board that I loved and I am regretting not picking it up. Thank goodness I have a business card so I can order it later.

After shopping at the craft show we headed to run a few errands to finish up for my sister-in-law's shower that mom and I are throwing. We got a great couple of finishing touches and then we drove home. My in-law's, husband, and son were waiting on me for dinner. We had pizza and cheese dip. It was great and nice to curl up on the couch with the hubs for a little while also.

Sunday Morning we got up and went to church. Tyler was such a entertainment that morning he was helping us all get ready. Jon was meeting with someone before church so everyone left before Tyler and I but we still were on time! WOOHOO! Tyler played in the nursery with his grandmother and Jon and I got to go to Sunday School together. It was so nice having him sitting by my side again. Sunday school was great. We read and discussed John 17. So great reading Jesus prayer to God the father right before he was crucified. After Sunday School I went and checked on Tyler who was doing great! I got a quick hug and kiss and off to church I went. Church was great! I love hearing my Father-in-law preach. He preached out of Ezekiel 43. The theme was :

It is not what happens to us that shapes us into who we are. It is how we respond to these events, life, that determines the direction of our life (who we become).

It was a great message to hear. We really all need to let God's glory destroy our pride and The majesty of God destroy our willfulness, and the Holiness of God destroy our self-righteousness.

After church I went to get Tyler to find out that he had only napped for about 20 minutes before waking up. I was worried we were in for a rough afternoon. We rushed home because Jon's parents had invited the church over for a drop in party to have the opportunity to talk and catch up with him. It was so nice. We had yummy hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken. Lots of yummy sides and desserts. Tyler was so good. He was so sleepy but he sat in his pack and play and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a long time. Then I heard him talking to his da da over and over so I rescued him and he played his heart out.

After the party we packed it up and came over to my parents house to stay for two weeks. We got here and Tyler played a little while and that is when we noticed Tyler was running a fever and starting to wheeze. We took his temp, gave him Tylenol and ran a warm bath. While he was playing we were discussing what to do. I was afraid Cares was going to be super packed on Monday and I didn't want to sit in the ER all night. We decided to try Stringfellow. It was actually great. We had no wait and they took super good care of him. After chest x-rays and a flu swab they came and let us know he had bronchitis. My poor baby. He got a nasty shot and was so good. He laid real still for everything. I was so proud of him. He also got a antibiotic and some prescriptions to take with us. He went to bed when we got home pretty easy but did not stay that way long. We had a long night and Jon put him in the bed with us finally and he slept really well. But poor Jon got Tyler the spider monkey all over him all night and did not sleep well. Tyler needs a king size bed just for him. He moves constantly. We however were sleeping in a full size bed. HA! What you do for your children. I would do it again any day of the week for my poor sick child and so would Jon.

Please pray he recovers quickly.

Prayers

Please say a prayer for Tyler. He has Bronchitis. He had some chest congestion and a cough. We had been watching him and was thinking it was from teething. Last night he started wheezing and was running a fever so we decided we would act quick and take him to the ER to keep it from being really bad. After some test we found out Tyler had Bronchitits. We got a shot of Rocephin and some antibiotics. We also got a prescription for a antibiotic and a steriod. Tyler has had a better day but it is still sick and has a mean cough. The steriods are making him have very yucky diapers as well. Pray for no diaper rash.

Also please pray for my sister. She was not feeling well yesterday either but thought it was because she needed sleep. She went to the doctor this morning and she has the Flu, Strep Throat, Ear Infection, and a Sinus infection. She must be miserable. Poor thing! She needs prayers for healing and quickly. We are hoping she is feeling better so that this weekend we can go see her, her husband and her daughter.

We can not wait to see these guys. Jon, Tyler, Me, My Mom, and My Dad are heading down thursday night to see them hopefully!

We are also hope to go see this place Saturday as well! Jon has never been and we are so excited to take him. I can not wait for Tyler to get to ride some of the kiddy rides as well. Plus we have met all the characters so no need to wait in those long lines!

Georgia Aquarium

Today we went to visit the Georgia Aquarium. It was nice. I am so glad I got our tickets on post at the discounted price. The prices are expensive. It is very nice inside and the time flys by. We arrived at 1:30 eastern time and stayed till 4:30 almost.

When you go in its a huge open room with entrances and exits for all 5 exhibits. They give you a map so that you can see what is where but it was easy to just start in one direction and move through all 5. Our first stop was the gift shop while some went to the restroom. We strolled and let Tyler look at all the stuffed animals. He liked some and throw most of them on the floor. He did like a little rubber "Nemo" fish so we got it for him.

First exhibit was "The Tropical Diver". I love looking at tropical fish! They are so bright and colorful. At the end of this exhibit is a living reef with live coral. It was gorgeous! Tyler loved it. He stood at the glass and just looked up.

Next exhibit was "Ocean Voyager". This was the largest of the exhibits and the one we spent the most time in. It has a HUGE tank with lots of windows to stop at and look in. You can see the tank from many angles. It also has underwater tunnel that you can walk through and look up at all the amazing animals. After going through the underwater tunnel you go into a huge glass front where you can watch them feed the fish if it is feeding time. Luckily it was when we got in. It was so amazing seeing all these creatures in their habitat. They creates bubbles in tank before they eat because the fish like it. This is also home to the 4 Whale Sharks. They are huge and amazing to see. I have never seen anything like them. They can not eat any fish in the tank because their throats are only the size of a quarter. They feed them at the top of the tank and basically spoon feed them plankton. It is so cool to watch.

After that we headed to "The Cold Water Quest". It features mostly mammals and all animals from the polar regions of the world. In the entryway is a beautiful waterfall. We stopped and made several pictures. Next was a touch tank but they only allow you to touch every fifeteen minutes and we got there at the end of one touch time. We got to see Sea Lions, Sea Otters, African black footed Penguins, Japanese Spider Crabs, and Beluga Whales. The Beluga Whales were amazing to see. They danced around in the tank. They followed each other around and did all kinds of tricks. They liked to show off.

Next we headed into the "River Scout" exhibit. This was to me a okay exhibit. It was really crowded and hard to see a lot inside this exhibit. It features regional fish and has a river that flows above with all kinds of North American fish. You can look up through the whole thing and see several different types of fish through the whole exhibit. They also had electric eels, piranhas, and several other types of fresh water fish.

The last exhibit we went in is called the "Georgia Explorer". We had the most fun in here. It is set up for childrens play. There is a huge whale slide, which Tyler loved! They offer several touch tanks inside with Shrimp, Horseshoe Crabs, Starfish, sharks, sting rays (minus the stingers), and a couple of other things. The bad part was Tylers arms were not long enough to actually touch anything down in the water and you were not aloud to pick anything up. He was so frustrated. He wanted to get in all the water as well. It had a large ship in the center that you could play in. Tyler has so much fun running all round it and making it make ship sounds. He liked all the play equipment. They had a huge playground but it was all up in the air. They would not let adults up in it so he could not play because he would have needed help.

After 2 1/2 to 3 hours of fun we headed to the car and wished it was not so cold outside we would have let Tyler play in the fun playgrounds in Centennial park. We decided to head to dinner and stopped in at Joe's Crab Shack. It was very yummy. Jon and his dad got steampots and me and his mom got shrimp platters. It was all yummy. Tyler picked off of everyones plates and ate some of his snacks I had brought. We also hit up Sam's for a few items and then home we went. We are very tired. Tyler is also starting to get some congestion so prayers for him are appreciated.

First trip on New boat

Okay so Tyler has Jon wrapped around his finger. Today proved it! HA! Jon and his dad were going to take the boat out fishing. We had talked about Tyler but I knew he would not get much fishing with him on the boat. But when they were getting ready this morning Tyler twinkled his eyes at daddy and cryed when he took his rod outside and Tyler was in! Jon told me he was taking Tyler so I told him I would come help. I got ready quickly and out the door we went.

We had to stop and fuel up and Jon's dad needed a fishing license. Next we had to go to my parents and pick up the boat. While driving to the river Tyler feel asleep. I thought this is perfect! He will nap and be in a good mood when we get to the marina. Boy oh Boy was I wrong. He did not get a long enough nap and was a little cranky pants.

We put the boat in the water, got out life jackets, loaded the boat, and then took off. The screaming began. The wind was too much in his face and he screamed. Finally he burried his head in my chest and hugged me tight and calmed down. First stop to fish Tyler was excited. He grabbed his rod, held it up, cast it, and reeled it some. I though okay this will be okay. He climbed all over the boat for a few minutes then the sleepyness got to him. He started whining, the crying, the screaming. I was doing all I could do to calm him down. I had never heard him cry like this. Finally Jon and his dad put away the fishing things and we decided to go on a stroll. Tyler sat in my lap and after just a few minutes of the boat moving he gave in and was fast asleep. He slept for a very long time sitting in my lap. The guys fished some more and Jon caught a cute small mouth Bass. Jon's dad even had a really good bite but got away. He bent his hook. We started working our way back down the river and my dad called and he was working by my Aunts and Uncles and he came and met us at there dock. Tyler had just woke up and jumped for him. He though Pop Pop was going to save him from the boat. HA! After that we went back to the marina and loaded up.

All in all it was a good day and Jon was thrilled to have his own boat to take out and enjoy. God has really blessed us! I love great family days together!
