Memorial Day Weekend




Last Thursday afternoon we packed up the truck and hooked up the boat and drove up to Kentucky Beach Resort on Kentucky Lake. Jon's parents came up and followed us up as well. We were ready for a fun filled long weekend. When we got there we checked in to our condo and unloaded the cars. The facilities were really nice. The condo was not the Hilton but it was really nice. After unloading the cars Jon, Tyler, and Bob took the truck and put the boat in the water and parked the trailer in the trailer parking lot. Jon and Tyler drove the boat around and parked it at the dock in front of our condo.Thursday night we drove into Murray, KY and got dinner at Cracker Barrel and went to Wal-mart.

Friday morning Jon and Bob got up at 4 am to take the boat and go fishing. They had so much fun and caught some good fish. Jon caught his first small mouth Bass. They brought back 3 fish to show us. Tyler loved it and was petting the fish and telling them they were good fishy.  They came up to the condo and we had breakfast then Jon took his Mom, Dad, and Tyler for a ride on the boat. While they were gone made chicken salad and pasta salad for lunch and prepped stuff for dinner. We they got back we all had lunch together and then Tyler took nap as did everyone else. After nap time we headed to the beach to play in the sand and take in some sun for the rest of the afternoon. That night I cooked a Low Country Boil, Coleslaw, and Cornbread. Dinner was so good. Jon smoked the sausage on the grill before we added it to the pot. So yummy. Then it was bath and bedtime.

Saturday morning Jon and his dad got up again at 4:30 and were ready to take on the lake. They had a good fishing trip again. After coming back we had breakfast and then Jon took Tyler and I out on the lake for a fishing trip. Tyler got to fish with a real hook for the first time and he was so excited. I was a nervous wreck but he did pretty good. We had a few tangles and he snagged my finger once and then I was trying to help him and we snagged Jon's life jacket. He did pretty good though with our help he got 3 fish on the hook but lost them before the boat. When we got back to the condo Jon put real (good) fishing line on the rod so that we would not lose anymore fish or have near the tangles. We also had lunch then changed and got ready for the beach (lake). Tyler loved going down to the water. He was so brave and is really getting confident in the water. He loved going out to the deep water and jumping off the diving plank. He would cry when he would come in then he would get interested in the sand toys. He even made a little friend with a little boy and they built a volcano in the sand. Tyler had resisted taking a nap that day but we needed him to take one so we got ready for dinner early and took a drive. He fell asleep immediately in the car. We went to Wal-mart first to grab a few more things we needed and let Tyler finish out his nap. Grandma and Grandpa bought Tyler some fun new swim toys. For dinner we went to this great local restaurant in Murray, KY. It was such reasonable prices and wonderful food. I wish it was closer we would go a lot more. After dinner we headed back to the condo and Tyler got all his goodies. He was so excited and played with them up till going to bed.

Sunday morning Jon and Bob hit the lake at 4:00am again and went fishing. They brought back some of their catch for little Tyler to see. He loves seeing those fish. We all had breakfast then we all worshiped together. We sang some hymns and some songs for Tyler and then read and discussed the scripture together. Afterwards we got ready and went down to the beach together. Tyler enjoyed swimming and playing in the sand and we all enjoyed watching him. Jon and I later in the afternoon decided to take a boat ride the two of us. It was nice. I made me a seat on a towel on the back of the boat and stuck my feet in the water while Jon fished. It kept me cooler and I was really comfortable. If I would have had a pillow I would have been asleep. After our boat ride we sat on the beach a little while longer and then Jon and I headed up to cook dinner and his parents and Tyler were not far behind us. I prepped the ribs while Jon got the grill ready then I made potato's and zucchini. I also made garlic cheddar biscuits. It was all very yummy. After dinner Jon took everyone on a short boat ride to see the sunset on the water. After the ride we all started packing up and cleaning up the condo. We all also got showers and got Tyler to sleep.

Monday morning we woke up and loaded everything in the cars and headed back to Clarksville. We met Jon's parents at Cracker Barrel for a brunch and then they had to leave to head back to Anniston. Jon and I headed home and unloaded the truck and worked on putting things away. Tyler took a nap while we watched some TV. When Tyler woke up we headed to town for a little while and he feel back asleep in the truck. We got him out and went in the mall and Tyler sleep on Jon's shoulder for most of the trip. He woke up and we decided to get supper at Old Chicago. After dinner we headed home to start the normal routine.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day!

Our family is so thankful for those that have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Freedom is not free. Our prayers go out to all the families that have lost loved ones fighting for our country. I pray that the sacrifices that they have made are remembered till the end of time.  We are also thankful to all those that have served and those currently serving.

Please say a prayer for all the service men and women currently fighting for our freedom and prayers for the families that have lost loved ones fighting for our country.

Pool time

It is warm here so last weekend we cleaned the pool up and let Tyler have a go! Man this boy loves the water as long as it is not in his face.

He is HOME

Jon is Home!!!!!

Finally after a month my hubby is home. I know a month in Army time is nothing. We have done a 15 month deployment and a 13 month deployment and tons of training away but this has been the longest month apart. Being pregnant and keeping up with a little boy that misses his daddy beyond control is hard work. I am so happy and feel so blessed to have my handsome soldier back home for me even if it is only for 2.5 months.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

I am so blessed to be a mom! It has been one of the biggest blessings God has ever given me. God blessed me with a amazing husband who loves me very much and he granted us one sweet little miracle boy in 2009 and 2012 will bring us another sweet miracle little boy!

I am also so blessed to have a wonderful Mother who has gone over and beyond to do things for me and my children. She sacrificed so much for us through our whole lives for us. I hope and pray I can be a mom to my children like she was to me and my sister My Mom is also a wonderful Lolli to my babies and would move mountains for them. I love you MOM!!!!

My Mother-in-law is a wonderful mother as well and I am truly blessed to have her part of my life. She is a wonderful Grandmother to my babies. She has helped me do so much over the last 7 years and I could not thank her enough.

I hope all Mom's have a wonderful day today!!!

Please remember all the Mother's who are deployed fighting for our country and not able to be with their children today and all the Mom's that have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country and their children.

1.  I was going to try and do a catch all catch you up and it would require lots of blogs so I will try and hit the high points.
2. We had a wonderful Christmas together as a family of 3 and enjoyed spending time with both of our families.
3. Jon and I got to go on a wonderful date night for New Year's Eve. We went to Birmingham shopping and we had dinner at The Melting Pot. So nice to have some alone time.
4. Jon went to the field for 10 days in January. 
5. Mid January we got a BIG surprise and found out I was pregnant.
6. Jon had to go back to the field for the last half of January and first half of February. He get to come home a day or two here and there and they had 2 days for the Superbowl.
7. Presidents Weekend Jon's mom was so sweet and came up to watch Tyler for us so we could have a weekend away. Jon and I on Friday headed to Nashville to stay at Opryland. It was our first time and it was amazing. We ate some amazing food together and really enjoyed some time just the two of us and rekindling flames. Sunday Jon's mom brought Tyler to us and he stayed Sunday and Monday with us at Opryland.
8.  In March Jon's unit had a marriage retreat in Nashville and it was great to get away. They provide childcare so it was nice to spend time just the two of us. The weekend did bring some issues and I started having some bleeding so we made a visit to the ER and then spent the weekend afraid that something was happening to baby. Luckily we were able to go see my doctor on Monday and everything was great with baby and it was something normal that can happen.
9. Also in March Jon went to Fort Polk, LA for 10 days. During these 10 days I got Strep Throat, a severe sinus infection and the Flu. It was fun times around here. 
10. During the time Jon was gone his sweet Grandmother Horst passed away. We are so thankful she is with the Lord now and no longer in pain. 
11. When he got back we went to my last doctors appointment with my Reproductive Endocrinologist doctor. We found out at this appointment that we were having another sweet little boy.  
12. We are very excited that Walker Daniel will join us in August.
13. The end of MarchJon went to Fort Leavenworth in Kansas for 7 days training.
14. Also on March 29 one of our favorite malls in Nashville re-opened. We went the first weekend of April to see what all had returned to Opry Mills and it was a adventure. Too many people for us to enjoy much but all the stores had a lot of great sales. We also ate lunch at Rainforest Cafe were we had a 2.5 hour wait. It was pretty good but I am sure it was not Jon's favorite at all.
15. The month of April we also spent a lot of time on the boat. Jon loves fishing and Tyler is his mini me. He loves so much being on that boat.
16. The middle of April we went to Lake Barley State Park and stayed for the weekend. We had so much fun. The room was nice, the food was good and Jon loved that Tyler would get up at 5am and go fishing early in the morning with him. 
17. End of April and May brought JRTC. Jon is in his last days there now but has been gone for 4 weeks. 
18. These 4 weeks have been very hard for me and Tyler. Tyler is daddy's little boy and has missed him very much as have I.
19. The last week of April and the first week of May Tyler and I were able to enjoy time back in Alabama visiting with all of our family. 
20. May 5 I was able to enjoy a wonderful baby shower for Baby Walker. We are so blessed to have so many people in our lives that love us.

He is fishing!

Tyler's room never got fully redecorated when we went from Baby to Toddler until now. Tyler has been sleeping in the floor a lot so we have been trying to find a solution to get him out of the floor and back in his bed. We went to a friends for the Superbowl and one little boy had a car bed and Tyler LOVED it. He had to keep showing us how cool it was. Jon asked him if maybe he wanted a boat bed or car bed and he went crazy in excitement. So the search began. My first thought was we were going from a nice wooden bed to a plastic bed and that I was not excited about. Then I saw the price of the car bed and knew I was not paying that amount for a plastic bed. Then I found the perfect wooden ship bed. It was still a toddler bed even though I was looking for twin. It got amazing reviews on several websites and it was ages 15 months to 7 years old. Score! I ordered and it came in yesterday. What a pretty and super heavy bed. The box weighed 78 pounds. Thank you Amazon Prime for your free shipping! Need less to say we did some rearranging and put his new bed together that day. We moved the crib and glider to the guest bedroom which will be Baby #2's bedroom very soon. Tyler loves his new bed and has slept in it all night.
